Dan Aaron Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Center
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy intervention can help people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) to remain safe and functionally active while assisting them to cope with the changes that occur with disease progression. By providing specialized, one-on-one treatments, our physical therapists are able to:
- Evaluate and treat mobility and walking problems
- Help with poor balance and falls
- Teach families and carepartners proper body mechanics and techniques for assisting the person with PD
- Design an exercise program to meet the special needs of those with PD
- Recommend and teach the use of appropriate adaptive equipment such as walkers
- Evaluate and treat joint or muscle pain which interferes with activities of daily living
- Provide home safety assessment
