Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy intervention can help people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) maintain maximum function in their daily routines and enable them to live meaningful lives. By providing specialized, one-on-one treatments, our occupational therapists are able to:

  • Evaluate and treat activities of daily living/self-care and cognitive problems that may develop as a result of PD
  • Recommend and train individuals on the use of adaptive equipment/devices to assist with increasing independence and conserving energy
  • Suggest home modifications that may improve safety and increase functional abilities
  • Explore new ways of engaging in favorite activities and hobbies
  • Work to improve a person’s fine motor coordination and help to maintain joint range of motion
