Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
Orthopaedic injuries can range from minor strains and sprains to often debilitating conditions, like arthritis or osteoporosis. Even the most minor injury or condition can cause discomfort and pain and affect quality of life.
Good Shepherd Penn Partners offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care to individuals suffering from orthopaedic injuries or conditions. Good Shepherd Penn Partners is there to help get you back on your feet and into your life.
Good Shepherd Penn Partners offers three levels of care tailored to your individual needs through every step of your rehabilitation.
First, visit a physician to determine what medical interventions are appropriate for your situation. These interventions could include diagnostic tests, medication management, physical therapy or referral to a specialist. Physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatrists) are also available to recommend treatment options.
If you have a complex orthopaedic issue that requires surgery, such as double joint or hip replacements, you may qualify for inpatient rehabilitation at the Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. Here, you will receive three hours of physical or occupational therapy each day.
Minor injuries and surgical recoveries may require outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitation at GSPP Penn Therapy & Fitness. Eight convenient locations can be found throughout the Philadelphia region.
