Amputee Rehabilitation

An amputation, be it from an accident or an illness, is a life-changing event. Good Shepherd Penn Partners (GSPP) is dedicated to helping you live the fullest, most independent lifestyle possible following amputation by providing comprehensive rehabilitation care.

Good Shepherd Penn Partners offers three levels of care tailored to your individual needs through every step of your rehabilitation.

Some individuals who have had amputations also suffer from other complex medical conditions that may require an additional level of care and attention. If you are too fragile to go home or to a rehabilitation facility, Good Shepherd Penn Partners Specialty Hospital at Rittenhouse may be the right solution.

Once you are medically stable, intensive inpatient amputee rehabilitation is provided at the Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. Here, amputees receive three hours of physical, speech or occupational therapy each day.

Following your inpatient rehabilitation, you may benefit from further outpatient care at GSPP Penn Therapy & Fitness. Eight convenient locations are found throughout the Philadelphia region.
